FOOTYPLAY · FOOTBALL PUZZLES
How to play FootyPlay
FootyPlay games are designed around one simple loop: read a football clue, make a thoughtful answer, see why it is correct and improve your next run. The rules differ by mode, but the goal is always clear and fair.
Before you start
Choose a game from the Games hub and select the available difficulty. Easy, medium and hard use different pools of teams, players, competitions, awards and statistics, so the difficulty is more than a faster timer.
Some games support online rooms. A public explanation is available without a room, while a private match keeps its board and turn state for the players who joined it.
During a round
Read the full clue, check the requested relationship and submit the player or answer. A team clue means a real club connection, a league clue means the relevant competition record and a nation clue means the player’s international or nationality connection requested by that square.
Do not rely only on a current club when the clue asks about a career season. Historical records are part of the puzzle when the wording calls for them.
After a round
- The result screen explains correct answers, missed clues and the points earned.
- Scores can be saved to your profile when you are signed in.
- A new run refreshes the puzzle pool so repeating a page does not intentionally serve one fixed board forever..
Good game habits
Use the clue wording, not reputation alone.
Treat national-team and club relationships as separate connections unless the clue combines them.
If a result looks surprising, read the explanation and report a data issue through Contact rather than repeatedly submitting the same guess.
